Simplot Australia’s fifth Modern Slavery Statement has now been published on the Australian Government’s Modern Slavery Statements Register.

This public Register promotes transparency and accountability, and our inclusion reflects our ongoing commitment to ethical business practices and responsible supply chains.

Our latest Statement outlines the steps we’ve taken over the past 12 months as part of our ongoing journey to protect human rights and reduce the risk of modern slavery. Key highlights include:

  • Investing in building awareness across our team through training and industry-led sessions, helping our people better understand and respond to the signs of modern slavery
  • Improving how we assess new suppliers
  • Expanding our third-party audit program
  • Continuing to build strong partnerships, particularly in seafood sourcing.

We also took proactive steps in response to a supplier-related concern, demonstrating that our systems are working and that we’re ready to act when needed.

This work reflects our values and our responsibility to the people behind the products we make. Addressing modern slavery is a complex, global challenge and one we’re not tackling alone. We continue to collaborate with our industry network, share insights and raise the bar on responsible sourcing. Our commitment is ongoing. We will continue to focus on the areas of greatest risk and ensure our actions are having real impact.
